“The Native Flowers and Ferns of The United States” by Thomas Meehan Vol 1 and Vol 2, 1878 and 1879, published by L. Prang and Company, Boston. Each volume has 48 chromolithograph plates, for a total of 96 plates! Each plate is a large 10.5 x 7”. You can find individual plates from these books selling for more than $30. The bindings appear original and are rubbed. The endleaves are marbled paper. There is a fair degree of foxing throughout, with the condition of the plates ranging from fair (the minority) to very good (the majority).
